Recovering from a hard days travel and a couple of beers, the first day in Paris was for reckoning the neighbor area of our hostel. We went to the weirdly extraordinary Park de la Villette, only 10 minutes from the hostel, in a group consisting of Runar, Miriam, Simon, Pit, Sarah and Mads.
The park incorporates a submarine, big flat grassy areas, a big globe made of triangular mirrors, futuristic, red constructions, most of them seemingly without function, and somehow the park makes it all work together seamlessly.

As our stomaches turned against us, we found a little local french place and sat down to eat "se chikken et se beef". Et un vin du table pour le groupe. After finishing, the waiter asked Pit, who was sitting colorizing his sketches from earlier, to paint a picture of the tiny restaurant. Twenty minutes later, they cheerfully accepted a watercolor-painting of their restaurant.
After that we followed our fellow architecture students to see their projects, a homeless shelter by Corbusier. We also saw the Bibliotheque Nationale de Paris and, of course, a lot of projects, buildings and streets we did not know the name of. We got home at 8pm and where literally too tired to do anything except falling asleep while photoshopping the pictures of the day...
